Fireworks over Wareham

It’s the big Fourth of July holiday weekend, and almost every town is having some type of celebration. Here's your Weekend Outlook.

Most of the events are on Monday, but there are some holiday activities this weekend. Here's a listing of activities and events around the region.

Another big annual event that always happens on this same weekend is the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's Pow Wow. This year, they keep all the entertainment, but there’s also a serious side, as the Fireball ceremony invokes those struggling with addiction. More info.

This is the time of year when a lot of big-name performers have concerts on Cape Cod, and this holiday week brings a number of them here. Here's a listing of musical events.

Each Wednesday Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events during All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted below - give it a listen.

JUNE 30 UPDATE. PLEASE NOTE: Since this segment aired, a change in schedule for one of the events was announced. Mashpee’s Annual Community Picnic & Fireworks event has been postponed to Saturday, July 2nd, 5PM at Mashpee High School. The town decided to postpone the event due to impending thunderstorms predicted for Friday evening.
