Vineyard Wind is among three companies with a federal lease to develop an off shore wind farm south of Martha’s Vineyard. While they are still awaiting a federal permit, Vineyard Wind is moving forward with state regulations for the laying of transmission cables and the on shore sub station planned for Barnstable. On The Point, we check in on the status of Vineyard Wind, and discuss concerns Cape residents and fisherman have raised about the location and laying of transmission lines.

The following guests joined the discussion: Erich Stephens, Chief Development Officer at Vineyard Wind. Andrew Gottleib, Executive Director of the Association to Preserve Cape Cod.Jim Miller, Professor of Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island, and Beth Casoni, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Lobsterman’s Association.
