Poetry Sunday: Diane Woods Ashley

Diane Woods Ashley

Diane Woods Ashley reads her poem, "Giving In."

Dianne Woods Ashley, of Eastham, lives a brushy walk to the bay and close to Boat Meadow Marsh, both which color her poetry. Dailiness with two cats, a new husband, a new grandchild, a traveling sister who recently settled close, and things that come out of the marsh inhabit the lines of her poetry. She has received awards for her poetry from the Cape Cod Cultural Center; Tony Hoagland National Poetry Competition; the Veterans for Peace Poetry Competition and the Joe Gouveia WOMR Regional Poetry Competition. Her poems have been published in the Cape Cod Anthology, World of Water, World of Sand. She has published short stories and had her plays produced when she lived in Virginia. On Cape Cod everything comes up poetry.
