Poetry Sunday: Lucile Burt

Catherine Butler

Lucile Burt reads her poem, "Someone Loved Returning."

Lucile Burt, a member of the Narrow Land Poets, is a retired English and creative writing teacher now living in Wellfleet.  Her chapbook, Neither Created Nor Destroyed, was the winner of the 2012 Philbrick Poetry Project Award and was published by the Providence Athenaeum.  Her poems have appeared in the anthology Teaching with Fire and various small press journals.

She finds that the work of writing poetry, with its careful attention to sound and rhythm, is a kind of meditation that helps her to see connections that might otherwise go unnoticed.
