Weekend Outlook: Blooms, Brushes and Bonfires

Alecia Orsini

A garden festival, an art festival, beach bonfires and more - there's plenty to do this weekend. We've got details in the Weekend Outlook.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events during All Things Considered on WCAI. Here's this week's conversation -- give it a listen.

The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival begins Friday, and some people are willing to travel from as far away as Texas and Colorado to walk through your neighbor’s backyard garden.

The Brewster Conservation Festival is happening on Saturday, and it looks at the environment in a different way. There will be an AmeriCorps puppet show, weir-fishing practice and a blacksmith demonstration.

Cahoon Museums Brush Off Art Auction & Festival! Silent and Live Art Auctions, Kids crafts and more. At about the same time, there will be a celebration of art happening in Cotuit.

Beach campfires are such a popular way to spend an evening at this time of year, and one on Friday will add music to that experience. Circle by the Sea featuring singer/songwriter Dawns Hammers will happen at Sandy Neck Beach. They provide the marshmallows!
