Weekend Outlook: Lots of Halloween Options

Peter Cook

This is the big weekend for Halloween events, some scary, some not so scary. Here's your Weekend Outlook.

For movie-lovers, there are some scary new films out, but if you want to see some spooky films from years ago, there are opportunities in Dennis at Cape Cinema and in Centerville at the Centerville Museum.

In Falmouth, you can get a little local history with Halloween fun. This event was originally scheduled for Saturday, but it’s been rescheduled for Sunday, for the weather. It's A Visit from the Night Watchman.

The grounds at Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich will be the site on Saturday of the annual Sandwich Halloween Festival, which is described as “(not too) spooktacular.”

Looking ahead to next week, there are a few unusual ways to celebrate the night before and on the actual day of Halloween. Like an event at the Sturgis Library about Edgar Allen Poe, another at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, and a scary option in Provincetown.
