Artist Statement:
Moving to Martha’s Vineyard 15 years ago, I changed countries and left family. It has been this year, the year of the pandemic, that I have felt so deeply unsettled. Not able to cross borders to see family or make a touchstone visit to see my Mother’s grave, has left me rattled. My Mum would have loved this place. When not writing, I supervise the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living’s Supportive Day Program which helps Island elders, living with age acquired disability, live better days.
