Looking Skyward: The sun put on a spectacular show

Gunjan Sinha, via NASA
The strongest geomagnetic storm in over two decades produced some spectacular sights on May 11, 2024. This image was captured by Gunjan Sinha, from near Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, as part of NASA’s Aurorasaurus project, which tracks aurora sightings around the planet.

This time on Looking Skyward, CAI's John Basile talks with Dr. Regina Jorgenson of the Maria Mitchell Observatory on Nantucket about the recent display of Northern Lights caused by unusual solar activity.
