New Bedford NAACP to Host Juneteenth Jubilee Saturday

The New Bedford NAACP Branch and Collective for Change are celebrating Juneteenth this Saturday with food, music and art.

The event is free and family friendly, said New Bedford NAACP Branch President LaSella Hall. “We absolutely want the parents to bring out the young people. We've got some local performances and music and dance and poetry. It's going to be wonderful.”

Hall added that a slew of food trucks from local vendors will keep attendees well fed.

“We’re just happy to promote what Juneteenth is about,” said Hall. “Emancipation, freedom and the liberation of Black people.”

The celebration this Saturday (June 19) runs from noon to 5 PM at the NAACP office at 95 Cedar St. in New Bedford.
