According to the Alzheimer’s Association, it is estimated that as many as 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and the incidence of the disease is rising in line with the aging population. It’s also estimated that one to four family members act as caregivers for each individual with Alzheimer’s. On The Point, we discuss the Alzheimer's Family Support Centers services for patients and caregivers, and the benefits of music and art for patients.
Guests on the program are Dr. Molly Perdue, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Family Support Center of Cape Cod; and Melanie Braverman, Cultural and Development Director at Alzheimer’s Family Support Center.
