JJ

Depression is not just a medical condition, it’s also big business.  Mindy Todd talks anti-depressants on The Point with psychiatrist Marc Whaley and psychologist Marc Whaley. According to the National Center for Health statistics, one in 10 Americans take anti-depressants and in 2008, Americans were spending 12 billion dollars each year on the medications. In 2008 a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that drug makers only published favorable study results for the efficacy of anti-depressants and none of the unfavorable studies. We’ll talk about the efficacy, business and science behind anti-depressants.
