Circus Smirkus Brings the Big Top to Sandwich, & more: Best Bets for Going Out

The whitewater rapids of summer keep racing us forward, swooshing from one great event to the next fun activity. In Centerville this weekend you can eat your fill of baklava and souvlaki, plus get your dance on, with the Grecian Festival. Falmouth presents the Cultural Survival Bazaar, with great food and cultural crafts from around the world. And beginning on Monday, it's one of the great traditions of summer: theBarnstable County Fair offers a midway, musical performers, fair food and so much more - and this year it has new hours, too. And also beginning Monday, a circus of children invades Sandwich with amazing acrobatics and irrepressible high spirits under the big top tent - it's Circus Smirkus. Go to see it. Your children will be captivated.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events every Thursday on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
