A Marine's Trial Impacts U.S. Filipino Relations

alearningfamily.com

In 2014 a U.S. Marine from New Bedford was convicted of killing a transgendered Filipino woman.  On The Point, we talk with social scientist Dr. Peter Kutschera about the conviction, and how it relates to U.S.-Filipino relations in the context of an expanding Chinese military presence.  Sean Corcoran hosts.

Dr. Kutschera will deliver the keynote address at the International Conference on Society, Psychology, and Education in the Philippines in January.  Here’s a link to the website for the Amerasian Research Network.
