Some unusual things are happening in the Cape Cod theater world this weekend—two related to opera, and one big challenge for writers, actors and directors.

Falmouth Theatre Guild opens the comedy "Lend Me a Tenor," and the cast includes an actor who appeared in the production in 1992, when the Guild last staged the show. More info.

WHAT continues its popular simulcasts of live opera, with the England National Opera's production of "Carmen." More info.

Provincetown Theater's Playwrights Lab is hosting its 6th Annual 24 Hour Theater Festival, which requires eight troupes to write and produce a theater piece in just 24 hours. More info.

Valentine’s Day is coming up next month, and local artists are asking people to help them send messages of love to local soldiers stationed around the world. More info.

Even though the Patriots won’t be playing, football fans are probably anticipating the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks. But this Sunday, some Falmouth groups are offering a different kind of Soup-Er Bowl to benefit the Falmouth Service Center. More info.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events each Wednesday during All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen.
