Plans Evolve for More and Safer Bikeways

woodsholeblog.wordpress.com

Bicycles have the ability to ease traffic congestion and reduce air pollution while also improving a rider's physical health. But providing safe and convenient bikeways takes considerable planning. Local cycling enthusiasts and transportation planners are working on engineering a regional bikeway system.

On The Point, Mindy Todd hosts a discussion about efforts to integrate cycling into our region’s transportation system, and ways to educate drivers, riders, and walkers to make roadways safer for everyone. Guests on the program are: Scott Lindell, Chairman of the Falmouth Bikeways Committee; Ed Gross, Vice Chair of the Falmouth Bikeways Committee; and Lev Malakoff, transportation engineer at the Cape Cod Commission. Here's a link for more information on the Cape Cod Commission's Falmouth Bike Planning. And follow this link for the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
