Waiting For Oscar Brings Songs and Laughter to Cotuit: Best Bets for the Weekend

Don't spend the whole weekend working in the garden (or readying the boat) - there are too many great events you won't want to miss.  The Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network (CapeCodCAN) has a new extravaganza concert this weekend called Waiting for Oscar, with performances at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.  And onSaturday night the Woods Hole Film Festival is hosting the premiere of a movie that was shot last year in Woods Hole, John Stimpson's The Off Season.  The Lower Cape Outreach Council's annual Week of Hope starts Saturday, and they have a big party on Tuesday with a Beatles 50th Anniversary theme. Next week, Thursday brings a big singing event to Falmouth: the A Cappella Fest, which includes two visiting college choruses and a relatively new group formed at Falmouth High School.

Each Thursday Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events on All Things Considered. This week's conversation is posted below - give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
