Weekend Outlook: Lots to Do This Long Weekend

Cotuit Center for the Arts

The unofficial end of summer is among us, but there's still lots to do locally.

Truro is ending the summer with a big fair, and it's all about local food. It’s the Truro Agricultural Fair.

If you’re ‘in the mood’ for shopping, this is a big weekend for other kinds of fairs, too -- ones that feature crafts and antiques, with dozens of vendors converging here from all over New England and beyond. Check out the Vineyard Artisan’s 23rd Labor Day festival in Tisbury, the Rotary Club of Falmouth Antique and Craft Show, Sandwich’s Juried Fine Arts and Crafts show, and Harwich 5th Annual Labor Day Antiques Show.

On a more serious note, a lot of local performers are coming together for a show Saturday night at Cotuit Center for the Arts that will honor a friend. It’s a73rdDay of Summer tribute to Pamela Wills.

One of the many controversies in the news these days involves an appointment to the Supreme Court and one way to learn more about the history behind what’s happening is a class being held on Friday at Barnstable High School. It’s the “One Day University.”
