The Provincetown Public Library hosts a marathon reading of Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" beginning on Friday.

You don't have to read Melville's grand and sprawling tome Moby Dick. Instead you can head to Provincetown and have it read to you. Also, we've got music, magic, and Legos. It's all here in the Weekend Outlook.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is above - give it a listen.

Provincetown has a long history as a whaling town, and that will be marked this weekend when a marathon reading of Moby Dick makes a splash there with a special guest: author Herman Melville's great great grandson, who will read the book's opening. More info.

Legos have been a hugely popular toy for kids for generations, and there’s a contest Sunday at the Cape Cod Children’s Museum in Mashpee where kids can test their Lego building skills. More info.

More family-friendly fun is happening Saturday in South Yarmouth with five magicians who will mix illusion with comedy. More info.

It’s a little early for Mother’s Day, but the “Moms on Broadway” show is returning to Cotuit. More info.
