You are an Oscar Winner (with Photo to Prove It), & more: Best Bets for the Weekend

The Academy Awards are Sunday night, and if you have a desire to dress-up fancy and walk the red carpet like a movie star, there are a number of local parties planned around watching the event. There are Oscar parties in Dennis, Chatham and Vineyard Haven, featuring red carpets, real Oscars you can pose with, and papparazi. Now just start rehearsing your thank you speech...

Attention parents spending time chasing after a crawling baby: here’s a chance to enter your crawler in a real race.  The Diaper Derby is on Saturday in Hyannis. Open to non-walking babies below the age of 12 months. Ready, set - crawl!

And on Saturday night, there’s a competition for people who know a lot about Cape Cod: the First Cape Cod History Trivia Night fundraiser at the American Legion in Sandwich.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events every Wednesday on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
