We look at regional results from the 2014 election. Then we discuss campaign finance, the impact of Super Pac money and what it might mean for the future of our political system and democracy.

We hear a portion of a This American Life program: "Take the Money and Run for Office". Click here for a link to the entire program. Next, An interview with Timothy Kuhner, associate professor of law at Georgia State University, and the author of Capitalism versus Democracy, Money in Politics and the Free Market Constitution. According to data from the Federal Elections Commission, in the latest national elections it cost approximately one billion dollars to become president, ten million dollars to become a senator, and one million dollars to become a member of the House of Representatives.  What does it this mean for the future of our political system and democracy?
