People experience homelessness for a variety of reasons. On The Point, we discuss the most recent data on who is homeless in our region, some of the challenges to finding and staying in housing, and how the community is stepping up to help. We also talk with the former Homeless Policy Czar under President Obama about what’s happening on the federal level to address homelessness.
Guests on the program are as follows: Philip Mangano, President and CEO of the American Round Table to Abolish Homelessness
Joe Doolin, gerontological social worker and President Emeritus of Catholic Charities in the Boston Archdiocese.
Jenn Pare, community care coordinator at Champ Homes
Deacon Dick Murphy, treasurer at Homeless Not Hopeless
Shauna Kane, with St Joseph’s shelter in Hyannis, formerly the NOAH shelter.
The Taste and See Cape Cod Fundraiser for Hyannis Homeless Shelters will take place on Friday October 4th from 6-9pm at Oyster Harbors Club, Osterville.
