How Race and Wealth Impact How, When and Where We Die

In Massachusetts, Black and Latino patients get less hospice care, die with more pain, and suffer more early deaths than white and Asian people. And Black and Latino families bury a far greater proportion of their children than in white and Asian families. On The Point, we talk with the Boston Globe Spotlight Team members Liz Kowalczyk and Rob Weisman about their recent series: Last Words – How Race and Wealth Determine How Long We Live and How We Die. We also discuss how the findings can help focus our response to the inequalities.
