Early Human Flight: a Forgotten History

If you ask most people about the early history of human flight they’re likely to rattle off the names Orville and Wilbur Wright. And it’s true, the American brothers were the first humans to fly in  a powered flying machine. But that’s only part of the story. On The Point, we talk with National Book Award winner Martin Sandler who brings us another important piece of flight history in his latest book titled “Race through the Skies, The Week the World Learned to Fly.”  The book introduces us to the people, achievements and mishaps that introduced the world to the wonder of flight.

Mindy Todd is the host and producer of The Point on WCAI which examines critical issues for Cape Cod and the Islands. She brings more than 30 years of experience in radio and television to WCAI.
