Students at a Cape Cod school concert

On The Point, we discuss school discipline, its particular impacts on students of color, and students with high needs or disabilities. We also talk about alternatives to exclusionary discipline.
Kathryn Eident hosts the following guests on the program:

Dhakir Warren, Director of Student Affairs at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School

Marc Smith, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, E.L. Director, Monomoy Regional High School

Elizabeth Hallet, Superintendent, Nantucket Public Schools

Here's a link to the Dignity In Schools website, with more information on disparities in the use of school discipline by race, gender, and sexual orientation.
