Massasoit and governor John Carver smoking a peace pipe

Massasoit was the leader of the Wampanoag Confederacy who negotiated a truce with British settlers of Plymouth Colony. The peace lasted for 40 years in the 1600's, starting shortly after what we now refer to as the first Thanksgiving. In this special broadcast of Peace Talks Radio we bring you a conversation with Native American scholar and Wampanoag tribal member Darius Coombs and a filmmaker who fill in the details of Massasoit's attempt to make peace for his people.
