Democrat Susan Moran was voted in Tuesday as the new state senator for the Plymouth-Barnstable district.

Moran beat Republican Jay McMahon to fill the seat left vacant by Vinny DeMacedo in November.

Plymouth Selectmen are hoping to postpone the special senate election to replace a seat left vacant by Vinny DeMacedo. The board sent a letter with the request to state lawmakers this week, saying that the voting is not a good idea amid the pandemic.

Special State Election Early Ballot Information

A new law has been passed clarifying that any person taking precaution related to COVID-19 qualifies for an absentee ballot.

Applications for absentee ballots are available to be downloaded and printed, but you may also request an absentee ballot by writing a letter to your clerk's office, if you do not have access to a printer.
