Poetry Sunday: Matthew Sheehan

Matthew Sheehan reads his unnamed poem.

Matthew Sheehan was born and raised in Falmouth; in fact, he was the Eel Pond Bridgetender many years ago. He no longer lives on the Cape. The subject matter of his poetry is often about his childhood memories of Falmouth and Woods Hole. This particular poem is about how, on their first date, Matthew and his wife watched the moon set on Vineyard Sound. They married just 19 days later, and have been together for 18 years, so far. "We had no idea what a wonderful life lay ahead," he said.
