STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

NPR's business news begins with more American planes.

Boeing has won an order to sound 50 of its 737 passenger jets to China Juneyao's Airlines, which is a $5 billion price tag. The order comes as the Chinese government loosens control over low-cost travel in order to meet demand from its growing middle class.

Boeing will sell about 140 passenger jets to China this year. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
