The Martha's Vineyard Skatepark across the street from the regional high school in Oak Bluffs gave a big boost to the island's skaters when it opened a decade ago. But the wooden ramps have since worn out and the park needs an overhaul. Derek Hawkins brings us the story about a community of skaters and a creative design challenge.

This piece comes from our production partners Atlantic Public Media, through their media training program, the Transom Story Workshop in Woods Hole. Applications for Spring 2014 are now open.
