As we age the risk of falling increases. While physical decline is a factor, scientists have found links between cognitive function, balance and falls. Dr. Brad Manor joins Mindy Todd on The Point to discuss his research into cognition and mobility, ways to improve balance, and why cognitive fitness and training may become just as important as physical fitness as we age.Dr. Manor is director of the Mobility and Falls Program at Hebrew Senior Life Institute for Aging Research and an instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Here's a link to the Spring Program Series on the Cape at the Orleans Senior Center, featuring Dr. Manor  on Wednesday June 3rd with  a talk “Balance & The Brain: Unlocking the Hidden Connection” **this event is now sold-out**. Also, visit the Brain Fit Club website mentioned on the show for more information on that program.
