The Next Big Thing
Muse Foundation

Even if you don’t play an instrument, sing or consider yourself musical, there’s a good chance you enjoy listening to music. Research suggests we incorporate music into our lives because it evokes a strong emotional response, helps us regulate mood, and is an expression of our relationship with others.

The MUSE Foundation offers music instruction and performance opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

We talk with executive director and co-founder of the Muse Foundation, Miyabe Shields and a music teacher with the MUSE foundation, Brett Lukaszek.

We also speak with Susan Senator whose adult autistic son Nat is part of the rock band the Brookline Buds. Susan is the author of Autism Adulthood- Insights and Creative Strategies for a Fulfilling Life.
