Deep Sound ~ Can you hear it?

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently home to a scientist who,  in 2009, tried to record something no human ear had ever heard.  Annie McEwen brings us the story as part of our Creative Life series.

UPDATE: Deep Sound will be deployed in the Challenger Deep (deepest spot in the ocean, part of the Mariana Trench) in December 2014, as part of a deep sea cruise aboard the R/V Falkor, which is the ship run by the Schmidt Ocean Institute. To find out more about David Barclay and to see what he is up to click here

This piece came to us from our production partners at Atlantic Public Media through their media training program, The Transom Story Workshop in Woods Hole.  Annie McEwan was in last fall's class. A new class will be starting in April. You can find out more about that program at Transom.org.
