Friends, family and colleagues are gathering tonight (Oct. 23) at the new Captain Gerald DeConto Veterans Memorial stadium in Sandwich. The state-of-the-art facility honors DeConto, a Navy veteran who died in the Pentagon during the September 11th terrorist attacks.

WCAI Morning Edition co-host Kathryn Eident talked with Assistant Secretary of the Navy Sean Stackley, a former classmate of DeConto, about why he's making the trip from D.C. to Sandwich to attend.
