Getting Your Boat Ready for Summer? Recycle that Shrink Wrap

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Boating season is getting underway across our region, and eager captains are peeling hundreds of yards of shrink wrap off their boats. Unfortunately, most of that plastic is getting thrown into the landfill. But boat shrink wrap can be recycled – even reused.

WCAI's Kathryn Eident talked with Kari Parcell, the waste reduction coordinator at Barnstable County, to learn about a program available for boats on the Cape.

Visit the Woods Hole Sea Grant website to learn more about the boat shrink wrap recycling program. The program runs through June 30, 2019.
