Harbor Health, a community health center in Hyannis, is planning to open a COVID-19 vaccination clinic next week at Zion Union Church.

A few patients got vaccinated Thursday in a test run.

Harbor Health spokeswoman Ami Bowen said the health center is setting up a dedicated 800 number for appointments at the Hyannis church.

Once that number is up and running, more details will be announced.

Initially, the clinic will be open only to people 75 or older, or who were eligible in Phase 1.

It will then open to a wider group, she said.

State Senator Julian Cyr said the clinic is an important location for ensuring equitable distribution of the vaccine.

In the CDC Social Vulnerability Index, Hyannis has the Cape and Islands’ only Census tract considered highly vulnerable.
