File 'Easy' COVID Relief Application Before Midnight, Chamber Says

The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce is urging businesses hurt by COVID-19 to apply for a sector-specific grant by 11:59 p.m. tonight.

Eligible sectors include restaurants, entertainment venues, gyms, salons, and independent retailers.

Applications are due before midnight, but they’re not difficult, and it’s not too late to start, said Wendy Northcross, CEO of the Chamber.

“We have heard, specifically, there are quite a few restaurants that have not taken advantage of the grant program,” she said. “It's a very easy application. This is a grant. It is not a loan.”

The grants come from the quasi-public Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation.

Northcross says even if a business has received another grant, it can still apply for this one.

“We are really beating the drum to please, please, please apply,” she said.

More information is at the MGCC website at empoweringsmallbusiness.org.

Separately, the federal Paycheck Protection Program is offering a second round of loans. Those applications are due March 31st.
