Strength, Balance and Breath: Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates

J. Junker

As we age, it’s important to keep our bodies moving and to maintain balance and strength. The key to success is finding activities we enjoy, so that we stick with them. On The Point's monthly Heathy Lifestyles program, we discuss Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates: three popular low- impact practices that combine strength, balance and breath. They all can be done almost anywhere, require no equipment and are adaptable to all ages and fitness levels.

Guests on the program are as follows:

Dena Irwin, registered dietitian/nutritionist at the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, and registered Yoga teacher.

Jana Faiky, group exercise and personal trainer, certified Pilates instructor and the owner of Fitness Directions in Falmouth.

Ken Nelson, teaching accessible, beginner-friendly yoga, qigong, meditation, and bodywork. He’s also a longtime faculty member at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
