Sunday is Father’s Day, and there are plenty of activities for dads, and for the whole family, to enjoy.
Organizers of shows that day in Hyannis and Edgartown believe that dads, cars and barbecue just go together. The annual Hyannis Car Show draws about 80,000 people, and is accompanied by cookout food and a craft show. In Edgartown, it's the Martha's Vineyard Car-B-Q Classic Auto Show, with proceeds going to the Fallen Firefighter's Fund.
There’s another Father’s Day event later in the day Sunday that’s all about dessert: the Centerville Pie Eating Contest at Lowell Park in Cotuit.
It’s not all about Fathers, though. In Orleans on Sunday, one big party is more about dogs than dads, with the Mutts and Margs Party to benefit the Animal Rescue League's Brewster Shelter.
Nantucket holds a lot of different festivals over the year. This weekend it’s all about people who love to write and read books, with the Nantucket Book Festival.
