WCAI News Director Steve Junker hosts a roundup of some of the top local and regional news of the week, including: a statewide ban on vaping products hits local vape users and retailers, as health officials applaud; the latest MCAS scores show Cape students keeping pace with state averages; and a new funding formula is proposed for public schools.

This week's guests are WCAI's Sarah Mizes-Tan; Geoff Spillane of the Cape Cod Times; George Brennan of the Martha's Vineyard Times; Tim Wood of the Cape Cod Chronicle; Ed Miller of the Provincetown Independent; Will Sennott of the Vineyard Gazette; WCAI's Kathryn Eident and WCAI statehouse reporter Mike Deehan.

Other stories we talk about include: a study of PFAS impacts will focus on Hyannis; Cape Cod Hospital breaks ground on a new building; fund offers relief from medical bills for pet owners; the 5-year-old shooting death of a West Tisbury man continues to be investigated; Chatham looks to become a climate change research center; rats on the uptick in Provincetown; veterans fish the MV derby; and we hear from the week in news at the Statehouse.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings, and produces The Fishing News and Weekend Outlook.
