Economic development, open space, market rate housing and even renewable energy all require real estate. How do we find the right balance as we weigh the needs of the community and the health of the planet? We discuss a proposal to re-zone over 600 acres in Wareham from residential to become a hospitality, recreation and entertainment district with Dr. Benjamin Cronin, an environmental historian of Southeastern Massachusetts. He wrote several chapters of his dissertation on early Wareham and the preservation of its Commons.
We also discuss a proposed solar farm on a golf course in Falmouth with Tom Bott, Falmouth Town Planner.
Other guests on the program also include Megan Amsler, Executive Director of Self Reliance and Chair of the Falmouth Energy Committee
Bryan Jesienski, an abutter to the Golf Course and member of the Coonamessett Pond Association.
