Mindfulness

Does mindfulness really work? Research shows that mindfulness can improve memory, reduce anxiety and break harmful habits such as overeating, smoking and substance use. On The Point, we talk with psychiatrist and internationally known expert in mindfulness training Dr. Judson Brewer about the science behind mindfulness.
We discuss Calmer Choice, a program introducing local students to the practice of mindfulness. We also get tips on practicing mindful eating.
Jud Brewer MD PhD is the Director of Research and Innovation at the Mindfulness Center and Associate Professor in Behavioral and Social Sciences at the School of Public Health and Psychiatry at the Medical School at Brown University
