Can we save the right whales?

The North Atlantic right whale species is teetering on the brink of extinction, largely due to human activities. It can be difficult to understand how we, even those of us living thousands of miles from the ocean, are contributing to their demise. The new film The Last of the Right Whales provides audiences with an intimate portrait of these magnificent leviathans and what we can do to help save them. In advance of the screening on March 24th at Cape Cinema, we talk with the filmmaker, researchers, activists, fisherman and the head of the State Division of Marine Fisheries.
Here's a list of the guests on this program.

Nadine Pequeneza, Director/Producer of Last of the Right Whales

Dr. Charles “Stormy” Mayo, Senior Scientist and Director of the Right Whale Ecology Program at the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, MA.

Daniel McKiernan, Director of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries

Marc Palombo, a fisherman testing rope-less gear

Patrick Ramage, Director of Outreach and Program Collaboration at IFAW

Last of the Right Whales, the highly acclaimed new film about critically endangered North Atlantic right whales is having a special screening event and Cape Cod premiere on Thursday March 24th 7PM at the Cape Cinema in Dennis.
