The past, present and future of the Schooner Ernestina Morrissey

Built in the late 1800’s as part of the Gloucester fishing fleet, the schooner explored the Arctic with Bob Bartlett, and ferried immigrants between Cape Verde and the US under sail. During the 1990’s and through the turn of this century Ernestina Morrissey served as an educational platform for students along the SouthCoast. Now the Massachusetts State Vessel she starts the next chapter of her life as part of Mass Maritme. On The Point, we talk about the schooner Ernestina Morrissey’s legacy and her future.
