News Roundup: Ferry Frustration; Pilgrim's Report Card; Short-term Rental Tax

It's been a busy week in local news.

WCAI News Director Steve Junker hosts a roundup of some of the top local and regional news of the week. His guests include Geoff Spillane of the Cape Cod Times, Sara Brown of the Vineyard Gazette, Tim Wood of the Cape Cod Chronicle, Ed Miller of the Provincetown Banner, George Brennan of the Martha's Vineyard Times, and Andy Tomolonis of South Coast Today.

Among the stories we talk about: two weeks of Martha’s Vineyard ferry breakdowns and disruptions have passengers and businesses frustrated; the Pilgrim Nuclear plant gets its annual report card; a state tax on short-term rentals could help wastewater cleanup; better communication with tribe, lawmakers; emergency repairs to coastlines; Canada issues safeguards to protect right whales; background checks have limits; woman charged with stealing $630K from Bourne car dealership; Bourne town meeting voters reject ban on pot shops; Janice Mills, former Mashpee school stalwart, remembered.
