It's Not Just The Lungs. Vaping May Hurt Your Heart.


Electronic cigarettes have been widely perceived as safer than conventional combustion cigarettes. But more than two thousand cases of lung injury and three dozen deaths associated with vaping have called that assessment into question.

Now, researchers are cautioning that it’s not only the lungs we should be worried about. A growing body of research suggests vaping could be damaging to the cardiovascular system.

Loren Wold is senior author on a new review of research published in the journal Cardiovascular Research. He’s director of biomedical research at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and a professor in the College of Medicine.
