New Novel Based on Real Life 1930's Murders

In 1931 a serial murder was committed in the hamlet of Quiet Dell, West Virginia. A con-man imprisoned and murdered an Illinois widow, Asta Eicher, her three children, who were 14, 12, and 9, and a Massachusetts divorcee, all of whom came with him to Quiet Dell willingly. Jayne Anne Phillips's new novel Quiet Dell is based on those events. She joins Mindy Todd on The Point from our studios at WGBH in Boston.
