It’s estimated that the sale of alcohol in stores increased 26% in the U.S. at the start of the pandemic, and public health providers are seeing more requests for alcohol use treatment. We discuss the spectrum of alcohol use disorder and some of the signs of drinking too much. We also discuss inequities in access to treatment, and the social and economic costs of alcohol use disorder. With us:
Kate Lena, Substance Use Prevention Manager for Barnstable County
Daniel Rodrigues, Associate Director of substance use disorder services at Duffy Health Center
Nancy Regan, Nurse Practitioner and Director of substance use disorder treatment program at the Community Health Center.
