The longshoremen’s union in New Bedford went back to work Thursday after a six-day work stoppage that delayed the unloading of the first wind turbine tower for Vineyard Wind.

Union laborers say they’ve been locked out of their jobs at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for several weeks over something that happened at a national meeting with the owner, Holtec, in Washington, D.C. The company disagrees with the union’s characterization of the situation as a lockout.
