Former state Senator Dan Wolf endorses Senator Ed Markey for reelection. Markey faces challenges in the 2020 election from Congressmen Joe Kennedy and labor attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan.

Cape Air CEO Dan Wolf is endorsing Senator Ed Markey's bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

In an endorsement video posted to the Senator's YouTube channel, Wolf — a former state senator — thanked Markey for his work over nearly four decades in Congress.

"He has been a tireless and fearless advocate for the citizens, not the special interests, but the citizens of the Commonwealth," Wolf said.

The long-time Senator faces challenges in the 2020 election from Congressmen Joe Kennedy and labor attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan.

In his endorsement, Wolf, who has established himself as both a business leader and environmental activist, praised Markey for his advocacy work on income inequality, healthcare, and climate change.

In February, Markey co-sponsored the Green New Deal with New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It's been described as a landmark piece of environmental legislation.

Over the summer, Wolf announced in the next three to four years, Cape Air would add planes to its fleet that are powered exclusively by electricity.

These would replace planes powered by petroleum-based fuels that contribute to global warming. It's part of the company’s effort to reduce its carbon footprint.

"I think we can basically say that we're going to run for an all-electric future," Markey said in the video. "You are the cutting edge, and that's why your endorsement means so much to me."

"I want to thank you, Senator," Wolf said, "for your decades of good work and for decades to come."
