COVID-19 Vaccine Information for Massachusetts Residents

Here you'll find links and information about the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Massachusetts.

**NEW on February 17th: 65 to 75-year-olds and anyone with more than one approved medical condition become eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in Mass. starting tomorrow, February 18th. Officials expect 26% increase in vaccine supplies, but adding 1M more to the eligibility list means more long waits for appointments.**

**Update: The Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment announced today that on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 9:00 AM, a vaccine clinic at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on February 10th and one at the Little Creek Parking Area in Eastham on February 12th will be posted, and will be searchable and OPEN FOR APPOINTMENTS at www.maimmunizations.org**

**On February 3rd a vaccine briefing was held for Cape Cod Residents Over 65. You can find the recording for that briefing here.**

Thestate COVID website is the landing page for all vaccine information, but it can be confusing to navigate.

MAImmunizations.com is another state website with a less complicated sign-up process. It's a portal for vaccine locations.  Enter your location, what service you're seeking, how far you're willing to drive, and multiple spots will populate with their availability.

The process may vary depending on where you are, and when specific locations will receive vaccines to administer.

Below is information that is unique to 3 areas: Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. We suggest you read this whole page before clicking any of the links.

First, you need to figure out what phase you're eligible for. Click on this link to find out.

If you're eligible for a phase that is currently accepting appointments, here's how you to sign up:

  • Fill out the Massachusetts Vaccination Attestation Form.
  • Then, find a vaccine location that is accepting appointments. You can find the state map HERE. Or navigate below on the interactive map.
  • Click on a location near you and a window will pop up with link that will allw you to sign up. You will need to create an account for the location that you choose.
  • Each location-type will have a different method for signing up. For instance, if you're trying to book through a pharmacy, you will need to create an account through their website.

As of January 27, 2021, there are 9 sites to choose from on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

Note: appointment slots will depend on how many vaccines the Commonwealth of Massachusetts distributes to local and county entities. You will likely need to keep trying to book your appointment even after you create an account at a specific vaccine site.

Cape Cod residents:

The Barnstable County website has information specific to Cape Cod, including the detail that appointments for those who are 75+ will not be available until February 1st. Additionally, Barnstable County issued the following statement on Wednesday, January 27, 2021:

  • Barnstable County Government seeks to clarify that although residents seventy-five years and older will be the next group eligible (Phase 2) to receive a COVID-19 vaccination beginning Monday, February 1, most will not find an available appointment immediately on Cape Cod. The reasons for the delay in the timeline are twofold: we are still in the process of vaccinating the initial eligible groups in Phase 1, and we do not yet have an adequate supply of the vaccine.
  • Barnstable County and all 15 local boards of health are committed to vaccinating our residents as soon as we receive the vaccine. Our policy is to register eligible candidates when we have their dose in-hand. Therefore, we will not immediately be making appointments for our residents ages 75 and up. When that time comes within the first few weeks of February, residents can search locations and register for their initial dose of vaccine on mass.gov/COVIDVaccineMap
